- Open Internet Explorer and navigate to this

- Choose the operating system and language from the pull down menus
- A screen with the download steps will appear.

- Start with step 2 and download the Windows XP mode
- A series of validation windows will come up that verify your computer is able to run Windows XP Mode.

- After validation, download the file:
- This is a large file - about 500 mb and will take between 20 minutes to an hour to download.
- People accessing the internet through dialup may want to order the CD from Microsoft.
- Internet Explorer may give a warning about a file downloading.
- Click the bar to allow the download.
- In the next box select the option to Save.
- In the location box choose the Download Folder.
- The file will now start downloading.
- After the download completes click Start, Computer and choose the
Downloads folder.
- Then double click on WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe
- Give permission to run this file downloaded from the internet.
- Click Next on the setup windows that appears.
- Click Next on the install location window.
- Click Finish on the completion window.
- Then double click on WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe
- Next, download Windows Virtual PC at step 3.
- Save the file in the Downloads folder
- When the download is complete double click the file to run it.
- Confirm the install of the Windows update - (Microsoft distributes this as a update for the computer).
- Accept the license terms for this software.
- The Virtual PC mode will now install,
- Click on Yes, to allow this program to make changes to the computer.
- When Finished, the installer will ask to restart the computer and will complete the install during startup.
- Once this portion is installed there will be a menu item on the
All Programs called "Windows XP Mode". This must be run the first time to setup XP mode for the initial use.
- Click on Start, All Programs,
Windows Virtual PC, Windows XP Mode.
- Accept the license terms for XP Mode.
- Enter a password to be used for the XP mode, a user password and allow Windows to save this password.
- Allow Automatic updates for the XP Mode and click
Next
- Allow the XP Mode to use shared drives so your files will be available to both Windows 7 and Windows XP.
- The XP Mode setup will now use these settings to configure the first use of XP Mode. Please read the screens for basic information about how to use XP mode.
- Click on Start, All Programs,
Windows Virtual PC, Windows XP Mode.
- The opening screen of Windows XP! Success!
- Note: you will need to install an Antivirus program on this version of Windows XP as well as on the Windows 7 computer

How to set up Windows Live Essentials in Windows 7
- You will need to download the Windows Live installer to begin. The link to download the installer is here. You can also use the web address, http://explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials?os=other
- You can save the item to your computer or
run the item.
- The installer is running.
- After the program starts installing it will give you the option to choose the programs you want to install. You can just install all of the programs the software has to offer.
- You can click on the line to install all or click on the line to choose what programs you would like to have on your system.
- Clicking on install will install the selected programs you choose. The process will install or upgrade Windows Live Mail, Windows live movie maker, Messenger, Windows live Photo Gallery, Windows Live Mesh, and a few others.

Installing ESET Version 5 on top of Version 4
This guide will show you how to install the new version of your
ESET NOD32 Antivirus over the top of version 4. It is recommended that you print or bookmark this guide as the system might be rebooted during the process.
- Open up Internet explorer, clear the address bar and type in www.eset.com to go to ESET´s webpage.
- Click on Download on the menu bar, and then click on
"Take me to my download"
- Click on the download button for Antivirus 5.
- Click on Run
- Confirm English is selected, and then Click on the Install button.
- A download window appears with a progress bar
- Click on "I Accept" on the End User License agreement.
- Put the check mark in for Detection of Potentially Unwanted Applications, click on
Next.
- Install window will appear, it will complete five passes to 100%.
- Click on the Finish.
- If the icon is orange for ESET on your system tray, open ESET
- Click on start, all programs, ESET, ESET antivirus.
- Click on the home tab, it will tell you what action is required next.
- It will likely tell you that you need to restart the computer.
- Once the computer is restarted, the icon should appear green and the process is complete.

How to Download and Install ESET Version 5
This guide will show you how to download and install the new version of your ESET NOD32 Antivirus or
ESET Smart Security. It is recommended that you print or bookmark this guide as the system might be rebooted during the process.
Download New ESET Software

- Close any programs, including the browser window that was used for the renewal process. Keep your printed copy of the username and password available.
- Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Select All Programs, located just above the start button.
- Locate and open the ESET Folder
- Open the ESET NOD32 Antivirus or Smart Security folder.
- Click on Uninstall to begin the removal of the old software.
- On the new ESET NOD32 Setup Wizard, click Next
- Choose the Remove option if prompted.
- If prompted with a questionnaire, select the "I Am Uninstalling ESET NOD32 Antivirus Only Temporarily and Plan to install it again" option.
- Click Remove on the next screen to begin removing the program.
- If the ESET NOD32 Setup displays a screen titled "Files in Use", select the "Do Not Close Applications. (A Reboot Will Be Required)" option and proceed.
- Wait a few moments as the program is uninstalled.
- When prompted, reboot the computer.
Download New ESET Software
- Click on the Start button in the bottom left.
- Select All Programs located just above the start button.
- Open Internet Explorer from that list.
- In the address bar at the very top of the Internet Explorer window, erase what is in the bar, type in "www.eset.com" (without the quotes), and press
enter.
- Click on the Download button on the main menu.
- On the ESET Download Page, click on "I have already purchased ESET security software. Take me to my download."
- If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows 7, click on the
green Download link next to the ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
- When prompted, choose Run instead of Save and wait a few minutes while the program downloads.
Install New ESET Software
- Once the program finishes downloading, choose the Run or Open to start the installation. If there is a security message from Windows, choose the Allow or Run option to continue the installation.
- On the new ESET NOD32 Installer, click on Next to begin the installation.
- Read and accept the End-User License Agreement.
- When prompted, enter the new ESET Username and Password, obtained after finishing the Activation process. The username begins with
"EAV-".
- Put a check for the Detection of Unwanted Programs.
- Wait a few moments as the program installs. If prompted for permission to "Continue" or "Allow", always allow the setup to continue.
- When the installer is finished, the ESET renewal has been successfully completed.
