How to Play a Blu-ray movie using PowerDVD 9

Blu-ray movies give the ultimate high definition experience. Blu-ray video is not yet a supported media by default in any Windows system so a third party program is required to play them. The most common of these is CyberLink Power DVD. This guide will walk you through the steps of playing a Blu-ray movie using CyberLink PowerDVD 9.

**NOTE: Verify your system meets the requirements to play Blu-rays before using PowerDVD. This includes a monitor with a digital output which supports HDCP along with a supported graphics card and updated driver**

  1. Insert Blu-ray disc into the optical drive.
  2. Open Power DVD 9 by clicking Start » All Programs » CyberLink Blu-ray Disc Suite » Power DVD 9 » CyberLink PowerDVD 9.

    Open CyberLink PowerDVD 9

  3. Select the optical drive as your primary source using the icon in the lower left corner of PowerDVD.

    Select optical drive
  4. Click Play and PowerDVD will load your movie.

    Play button
